5/23/2001 Summit by Mr. Carlos Soria Fontan, (1939), Madrid,
Spain.
He was on the
permit of Mr. Gotz Wiegand (1959), Engineer, from Dresden,
Germany during this Spring Season of 2001. But our
understanding is that he was climbing independently as a
member of this team.

5/24/2001: Sad News
Mr. Peter
Gerfried Ganner (1944) A Broadeast Engineer from Klusterneuburg,
Austria fell 500 meters (Approximately) down from the height
of 8500 meters (near South summit).
Note: He was
on the permit of the Odyssey Everest Expedition team permitted to
Climb 8,848 m Mt. Everest from South East Ridge under the
leadership of Mr. Seizo Imanari (1939), from Japan.
But our
understanding is that he was climbing independently as a
member of this team.
His news has
been officially released....
