Dan Mazur's Kangchenjunga Spring 2002

Dispatch March 12th, 2002: We awoke at 6am , and began walking to camp 1 at 730 am. The weather was fine, sunny and beautiful. All of us participated, except for Brian, who took a rest day. Upon reaching the camp, we worked for several hours to build six tent platforms, and put up the tents, adding a lot of guy-lines, considering the high winds we had seen blowing up here. We crawled inside, after filling our snow bags, and watched the beautiful evening light hitting the peaks to the east of us, at sunset.

Thank you very much. Cheers for now. Yours
Sincerely, Daniel Mazur from http://www.SummitClimb.com

Note: In March of 2002, this team is attempting the 7200 meter Mount Nojin Kansa (picture below), a moderate peak near Lhasa Tibet, which has never had a western ascent. In April-June of 2002, they will be attempting Kangchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, located in Eastern Nepal.
