Dan Mazur's Kangchenjunga Spring 2002

Dispatch March 4th: Well, we left Kathmandu at 03:30 am in the morning, and crossed into Tibet at the Friendship Bridge in Kodari at 3:00 pm. We had lunch at Zhangmu, after clearing customs and immigration. Everything went smoothly on our trip into Tibet. Snow fell on the night of March 2nd, so the road to Nyalam is blocked. Its a hot sunny day with no clouds in the sky. We are waiting at a road block for the bulldozer to come and clear the way. It is not here yet, and Tsering, our guide, says we might have to return to Zhangmu for another night. We ate some of antonis and dimitris greek olives. delicious! More news later on this frustrating Avalanche situation.

Thank you very much. Cheers for now. Yours
Sincerely, Daniel Mazur from http://www.SummitClimb.com
