ALAN HINKES SIGNS NEW THREE YEAR
SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH BERGHAUS
Britain’s leading high altitude
mountaineer Alan Hinkes has signed a new three
year sponsorship deal with Berghaus. Alan has
worked with Berghaus closely for almost 20 years
and through the supply of gear and organisation of
events the company has supported him throughout
his Challenge 8000 quest to be the first Briton to
summit the world’s 14 highest mountains, which all
reach over 8000 metres. Berghaus managing director
Tony Wood comments: “Alan is an exceptional
mountaineer and has become a good friend over the
years. |

His product feedback and profile is
invaluable to us and we are all thoroughly enjoying
the highs and lows of his Challenge 8000
campaign. It’s great to work with someone who really
puts our products to the test in some of the most
demanding environments on the planet.” At the end of
last year Alan completed a very successful UK tour
where thousands of people gathered to see slides and
film footage of his climbing career to date and of
course to meet the man himself. Alan is now in Nepal,
about to attempt his 13th 8000er, Kangchenjunga.
Speaking from the Berghaus offices before he left Alan
said: "I have worked with Berghaus for so long
now it feels like an extended family. I’ve seen
fantastic developments in fabric technology and
product designs over the years and it has been a
pleasure being able to give feedback and make a
contribution to it all. It’s great to sign a new deal
with Berghaus and I am looking forward to many more
years with the company, working with the team as the
business goes from strength to strength.”
