March 25, 2002: Our team will depart Seattle on April 5th, 2002 en route to the Nepalese capitol of Kathmandu.  From Kathmandu we'll drive to the remote town of Gorkha; from there it's ten days on foot to Manaslu base camp.  We plan to approximate the route pioneered by the Japanese in 1956.   After ascending the Manaslu Glacier to the North Col we will follow the north ridge to the summit plateau.  From the edge of the plateau it is a long day to the summit.
