Médecins
Sans Frontières (MSF) is delighted to join with
Martine Larroque as she undertakes the challenge of
a lifetime.
Martine
Larroque is a French experience climber, based in
Dubai, UAE. Her attempt to climb Everest this spring
is dedicated to MSF for enduring challenges and hard
tough missions since they have started.
The
year 2001 is the Year of Refugees, and 2002 will be
the Year of the Mountain. With the combination of
these strong occasions, Martine felt it was the
right time to go for the biggest challenge of a
lifetime.
MSF
teams around the world face incredible challenges every
day trying to provide emergency medical aid wherever it is
needed, regardless of race, religion, politics or sex. MSF
received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999 for it’s
humanitarian relief work in over 80 countries worldwide.
Martine’s determination to bring MSF to the attention of
the community and her ascent of Everest make a perfect
match. |
