6/4/2001 Part 2:
Hey,
we're back here with Part 2...
In
case you're wondering...we'll be sending back several
dispatches in the coming days from Kathmandu,
covering:
--Our
attempt on the summit: A day to day account of our
successful ascent of Mt. Everest.
--A
day to day account of what's going on here in KTM, politically
wise, since were CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT...
As
you probably already know, when we landed in KTM from
our flight from Syngboche, we arrived in one of
Nepal's worst nightmares. The King, Queen, and many
other of Nepal's royalty has been murdered, and the
people of Nepal are "heating up." It's
getting somewhat ugly, and we hope to share with you
what we've experienced and heard through our closer
friends.
We'll
be covering more, so please stay tuned. The action is
"hot," and while we can appreciate to some
extent being here right now, we're more anxious to get
home...and we wish our Nepali friends didn't have to
deal with such sadness.
