Mountain
Madness Team members are Julio Bird, Andy Colyer,
Gary Ponder, and Matthew Holt.
Everest
expedition guides are Hector Ponce de Leon
and Charlie Fowler. Hector hails from Mexico
and is an accomplished high altitude guide with
ascents of Everest, Gasherbrum II, and Cho Oyu.
Hector has climbed the south face of Shishapangma
and was thwarted by poor conditions on K2 twice,
once on the Abruzzi Ridge and the other on the North
Ridge. Veteran guide Charlie Fowler has been guiding
for the past 25 years. He has summitted Cho
Oyu twice and climbed the southwest face of
Shishapangma, among many other accomplishments,
including difficult first ascents in Patagonia.
Four
climbing Sherpas will be supporting the climbers
including 8 time Everest summiter Lakpa Gelu, 6
times Everest summiter Lama Jangbu and 7th times
summiter Nima Gombu.
