Dispatch 14: Hello this is Mike Hale from Broad Peak expedition calling in an update on Monday 7/21 3 days ago malti and Mike made a go for the summit from camp 3 but were turned back from the cold from their early start. Malti made the call then headed back for some rest. The following day, taki, julian and Mike made another go at it, but still in cold conditions turned all back in the cold again. We all packed our gear and quit the camps from the mountain and headed back to the base camp for some well deserved rest and relaxation. leaving....?at camp 3 and the Koreans at camp 4. So here we sit, Monday morning, 6 of us at base camp during the finest weather of the expedition. All of our gear is already off the mountain down below we will be meeting Stu, Walter, Fred, to get to the top Fred left camp 4 Sunday and made it to the false summit a few meters short of the true summit .........daylight forced them back. ................... We will monitor their progress from basecamp today and we all look forward to that first beer in a few days. signing off for now Mike
