Spain Argentina GI Expedition 2003


July 2003: Agence France-Presse is reporting that two members of the Spain- Argentina GI Expedition 2003 lead by Mr. Eva Zarzuelo have died. Jose Manuel Buenaga from Spain and Nancy Noemi Silvestrini are reported dead.

Our reporters in Pakistan are not as definitive yet, "there is a rumor that 2 Spain-Argentina GB-I Expedition 2003. led by Eva Zarzuelo have died, but there is no any details, yesterday from Deputy Commissioners office contacted our camp office Skardu inquiring about them. I will send any information as soon as I get."

and "Two mountaineers of a joint venture of Spain and Argentina have gone missing while scaling 8068m high Gasherbrum I Peak in the Karakorum Range.

"Report came from the base camp that for the last 48 hours two Climbers Miss Nancy Noemi Silvestrini of Argentina and Jose Manuel of Spain went missing. Members of expedition are trying to find their bodies and now consider them dead and their bodies are around 7000 meters high. They are part of seven members Argentina and Spanish Party trying to scale Hidden Peak also known as GI.
