Today he is resting at Camp 2. He will continue on to Camp 3 on May 10, stopping at Camp 4 on May 11, with plans to reach the summit on May 12. It is his understanding that the lines from the Balcony to the summit will be fixed by the Japanese team, who are planning their summit attempt on May 11. Paul plans on leaving Camp 4 at approximately midnight. It took Paul 8 hours to reach the summit last year. This year he will be taking the snow measurements for the Boston Museum of Science along the route to the summit so it will take him a bit longer. The search and excavation of Hillary's high camp will take place on the way back to Camp 4, only once the job for the Boston Museum of Science is completed. Paul stated that his mini-head cam and the digital camera are working properly and that he is hopeful to be able to capture this incredible portion of the adventure. D. Giorgio |
