A
little over 4 years ago when we started
EverestNews.com, we told you about two little know
climbers outside of Nepal named Babu
and Appa. While there are many
strong Sherpa climbers, another have caught our
attention. His name is
Serap Jangbu Sherpa. Last summer
Serap Jangbu Sherpa summited K2, then the main summit
(the highest one) of Shishapangma in the fall of 2000.
This spring he reached the Summit of Lhotse and is now
headed back to K2 with Mr. Park
for his second K2 Summit, if successful. He is a
"free lancer". which means he is not working
for a Sherpa Company.
Look
for more on
Serap Jangbu Sherpa soon on EverestNews.com.
Update
7/22/2001:
Serap Jangbu Sherpa become the second climber to have
reached the Summit of K2 twice, and the only climber
to have ever to have reached the Summit of K2 in back
to back years.
