Sergi Mingote, a mountain climber, is attempting "the greater challenge of his race: to reach the ceiling of the world without supplemental  oxygen and by the difficult North Face route, and he plans to do this alone!" Sergi was born in Parets del Valles, Barcelona in 1971.

Sergi Mingote makes the first bold attempt to Summit Everest this year. He left ABC with two Sherpas heading for the top, going strong. 

He reports, April 29th: "The snow surprises me when arriving at camp 2 at 7800 meters". " It has been a long way ....until arriving at the 7800 meters. An hour before arriving, the sky has begun to cover until the point of not seeing anything. The snow is complicated ...... "

April 30th: The last news of Sergi Mingote, is that once he reached 8100 meters a storm of snow and wind has prevented him from continuing with the attack to the top. He is resting after the attempt and heading back to ABC.
