Sergi
Mingote Everest Expedition
Sergi
Mingote, a mountain climber, is attempting "the greater
challenge of his race: to reach the ceiling of the world
without supplemental oxygen and by the difficult North
Face route, and he plans to do this alone!" Sergi was born in Parets del Valles, Barcelona in
1971.
Dispatch: May
3: Physical recovery is going OK.
"I have
talked to the media and I have realized the impact of the
expedition" " We are waiting for the 10th, the day
the moon phase changes, and there can be a change in the
weather".
This day has
been good to continue with my physical recovery, which I need
after a summit attempt. Food helps a lot to recover
strength. I have eaten a great deal of carbohydrates.
The problems with my throat, due to the intense cold endured
during ascent, have almost disappeared.
The day has
been beneficial for the media. Now that I am here, a lot
of media channels have been in contact with me. The
conversations with them have been useful to realize the impact
that this expedition is
making.
They have let
me know that a lot of people are following me through my web
page and through different newspapers. Personally,
knowing all this has given me incredible motivation. I
have realized that the attempt to get to the summit has been
highly appreciated by all the fans. As I have told you
before, I am here with members of different expeditions (TVE
technicians, Eresmas, Retevisiσn). We share long chats,
experiences, meals, tea. Fellowship at the place is
good. Less than an hour ago, our friends of "Al
filo de lo imposible" who are up, said their generator
was broken. Mine was up there and I have offered it to
them.
The weather
is still unstable, we are still waiting for the 10th, the day
the moon phase changes, and it is said that when the moon
changes, there is a change in the weather, which can be for
better or for worst...
