More good news from Pakistan on climbing/trekking

Dear Friends, Eid Greetings from Adventure Tours Pakistan!

After a long silence now I am back with some good news about the future of Tourism Industry in Pakistan. Today’s news letter contains British Airways’ returns to Islamabad, Pakistan and India agree to resume flights and a list of trekkers visited to restricted areas in 2003.

THE BRITISH AIRWAYS:

British Airways is set to resume direct flights to London from Islamabad this winter.

Flights will restart on Tuesday December 2, 2003 and will operate a Boeing 777 thrice-weekly between Islamabad and London Heathrow.

The flight schedule will be as follows: 

Departures from Islamabad on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 0810 hrs and arriving into London at 1155 hrs.

Departures from London Heathrow on Mondays and Saturdays at 1710 hrs and arrival in Islamabad at 0605 hrs the following day.

Departure from London Heathrow on Wednesday at 1710 hrs and arrival in Islamabad at 0610 hrs the following day.

PAK-INDIA FLIGHTS:

The first flight between Pakistan and India will travel on 1^st January on Eve of New Year. Flights between Pakistan and Nepal will also be resumed from the very same day. The flights between Islamabad and Katmandu will help climbers who wish to climb both in Nepal and Pakistan, because when spring season ends in Nepal, the climbing season starts in Pakistan.

THE CEASE FIRE:

A ceasefire between India and Pakistan on the Line of Control, Working Boundary, and Line of Actual Contact in Siachen became effective from Tuesday midnight. Many travelers were not visiting the region because of the tension between Pakistan and India now, the cease fire will result into positive results over tourism industry in Pakistan. The confirmation of India Prime Minister to visit Islamabad during the forthcoming SAARC meeting schedule in January is also a positive step towards peace in the region.
