Mount Cook in New Zealand

Eric Alexander and Erik
Weihenmayer are currently climbing Mount Cook in New
Zealand. Mt Cook at 12,316 feet it is the areas
highest peak.
Time is going by and
our summit bid has come down to one window if the
weather and conditions cooperate. Cook got hit with 5
feet of snow and the weather has not been clear. We do
not wish to head up into Avalanche danger, nor nasty
weather so we must wait. We have climbed a couple of
local peaks near Queenstown and done a bit of rock
climbing as we wait. Erik led a little 5.8 the other
day - see photo.
