Adventure
Extreme Everest 2001 Expedition
|
|
Dispatch
Three: April 23th, 2001:
Despite
some unpleasant
weather
associated with the passage of a cold front, the
Adventure Extreme team continue to make good
progress with further carries to the North Col.
Terry Stubbs and Stuart Simpson have returned to
the mountain leaving Dave Peel and Brian Staines
at BC recovering from minor chest infections,
all other team members and Sherpa staff are
well. Due to a deal made with Eric Simonson's
expedition, the team has access to fixed rope
already in place up to 8200 meters and plan to
maintain momentum by establishing camp 2 at 7800
meters within the next few days. The expedition
is receiving highly
accurate weather forecasts from the UK based Met
Guru, Alan Pettitt which
is helping their forward planning considerably.

Stubbs - Base camp manager
