Extreme Everest 2001 Expedition
Dispatch: April 29th, 2001:
Adventure
Extreme staff and expedition members have
succeeded in establishing camp 2 at 7800 meters
despite some adverse weather which has effected
the area over recent days. From our well stocked
camp 1 on the North Col, the expedition will now
ferry supplies to camp 2 while our Sherpa staff
establish camp 3, our summit camp, at about 8300
meters. We expect to have established camp 3
within the next few days and to have carried
oxygen, food and fuel to our high point shortly
thereafter. Things are looking good for the
first of our summit bids to commence on about
12th May weather permitting.
