Winter 2003
Editorial Comment: As we look back on Winter K2, what we see
is a few great climbers who attempted K2 and stayed
with the climb in
conditions that most would not even consider
climbing. We saw
men pushing the limits of what is possible in
climbing. We saw
the efforts of real climbers going to where only a
few climbers could.
Krzysztof Wielicki and
Denis Urubko showed to
the world that they are some of the best climbers in
the world today.
How dangerous is Winter K2? Some day, climbers will
go back, if a group of climbers attempt the Summit
push of K2 in Winter, one would be assured
some will not return...
