Disabled mountaineer Gary Guller will attempt to summit Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world at 8,850m, in Spring 2001. While any attempt at Everest is one of the greatest challenges one could undertake, Gary's attempt will be especially personal. In 1986, Gary suffered a spinal cord injury in a climbing accident. His neck was broken and the nerve roots going to his left arm were pulled out of the spinal cord. Despite experimental surgery, the paralysis was irreparable and he made the decision to have his left arm amputated.
Gary wants to raise awareness and encourage disabled people that "anything is possible". Expedition leader Mike Trueman along with Tunc Findik will be climbing with Gary and the ascent will be supported by the finest climbing Sherpa in the world, including 3-time summiteer Kipa Sherpa.

The primary goals of the "Anything is Possible" expedition are to climb Everest and to raise awareness and support for the potential of people with disabilities. If you interested in being a part of this unique expedition, please e-mail/call for further information.

To our knowledge, Gary will be the first person with only one arm to attempt to summit Everest, one of the greatest endeavors in mountaineering history. Gary, who is also president of Arun Treks & Expeditions, wants to raise awareness and encourage disabled people that "anything is possible". The ascent will be supported by some of the finest climbing Sherpa in the world.
